Belay devices and descenders

Belay Devices
For safe belaying K2 currently carries three belaying devices: the Auto-stop, our classic ClimbController and the Double Reverse.

The Auto-Stop is a handy device meant for indoor and sport climbing only, which automatically blocks, taking away the risk of rope slipping through. The ClimbController is an easy-to-use belaying device that resembles the functionalities of the classic Figure Eight, but offers smoother handling. The Double Reverse is a belaying device and a descender and can be used for single and double ropes.

Descenders
K2 has developed three descenders: the Figure Eight, the Stopper and the Diablo.

For sport climbing and mountaineering we still recommend the classic Figure Eight. The Stopper was developed as an automatically braking device, which is extremely useful for caving and long descents. The Diablo is a device specifically for canyoning. It can be used in many different ways in order to gain the desired amount of friction during descent..
